DII and DIII Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings Released|

CLEVELAND – In the first set of spring Division II and III Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, Grand Valley State leads DII with 630.75 points, while MIT continues to lead DIII with 714.50 points.
Grand Valley State scored in both the men’s and women’s tennis championships to jump ahead of California Baptist in the first spring standings, tallying 75 points between the two sports. MIT continues in the top spot in DIII.
In Division II, California Baptist is in second place with 614.50 points, but has not scored in a spring championship to date. Queens (NC) is in third with 600.00 points, after placing 33rd in both the men’s and women’s tennis championships, increasing its point total to 600 even. In fourth is Wingate with 526.50 total points after taking home 17th place finishes in men’s and women’s tennis. Rounding out the top five is Colorado School of Mines with 490.00 points.
The SAC leads all Division II conferences with two institutions each in the top 10– Queens (NC) (3rd) and Wingate (4th) for the SAC.
In Division III, Williams is in second with 703.00 points, after finishing second in the women’s golf championship. Johns Hopkins is in third place with 661.50 points. Washington-St. Louis moved to fourth with 641 points, 58.5 coming in women’s golf this spring. Rounding out the top five is Middlebury with 609.00 points.
The NESCAC and UAA lead all Division III conferences with three institutions each in the top 10 – Williams (2nd), Middlebury (5th) and Tufts (10th) for the NESCAC and Washington-St. Louis (4th), Emory (6th) and Chicago (9th) for UAA.
The next Division II and III standings will be released Thursday, May 31, the final of the year.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
