Although not scoring in the bowling championship, the only sport added this week, Penn State remains in second place with 707.25 total points.
The rest of the top five also maintained the status quo with three other Big Ten schools in third through fifth place.
The Wisconsin Badgers are still in third with 692.00 total points, 368.00 of which have come from the winter standings.
In fourth place is Ohio State by a mere three points. The Buckeyes have added 501.50 points this winter for a total of 689.00 points.
The Michigan Wolverines trail their archrival by 27.75 points to round out the top five. With 661.25 total points, the four Big Ten schools in the top five are only separated by 46 points heading into the final winter standings.
The Big Ten leads all Division I conferences in the top-10 with four institutions – Penn State (2nd), Wisconsin (3rd), Ohio State (4th) and Michigan (5th).
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
The final Division I standings will be released Thursday, April 27, and will include both men’s and women’s gymnastics.
