Adams State (Colo.) Takes the Lead in First Winter Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings|

In the first winter release, Adams State (Colo.) sits atop the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings with 420.50 total points. With second place finishes in both men's and women's track & field and an eighth place finish in wrestling, the Grizzlies added 250.50 points to their fall total.
Grand Valley State (Mich.) is in second with 411.00 total points. The Lakers scored in two of the three winter championships so far, capturing the national title in women's track & field and finishing 22nd in men's track & field.
In third place is Western State (Colo.) with 365.75 total points. The Mountaineers finished eighth in women's track & field, 17th in men's track & field and 25th in wrestling.
Augustana (S.D.) sits in fourth place with 329.50 total points. The Vikings finished 10th in wrestling, 22nd in men's track & field and 33rd in women's track & field.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference placed four institutions in the top 10, Adams State (1st), Western State (3rd), Nebraska Kearney (7th) and Colorado School of Mines (9th).
Three of the seven winter NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: women's track & field - Grand Valley State (Mich.); men's track & field - Grand Canyon (Ariz.); wrestling - Nebraska Kearney.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports -- seven women's and seven men's.
The final Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup winter standings will be published March 29.
