NACDA Convention Update
Sept. 2, 2005 As a result of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the NACDA office has received many questions on the status of the Association's 41st annual Convention and the affiliate Associations' Conventions, scheduled for June 2006, in New Orleans at the Sheraton and Marriott Hotels. NACDA's first thoughts and prayers are with the people directly affected by the hurricane for their quick and safe evacuation and recovery. Based on information provided by representatives from the corporate offices of the Sheraton and Marriott Hotels, the NACDA office believes the city of New Orleans will have recovered from the hurricane sufficiently to host the Convention. "We want to be part of the comeback of the city of New Orleans," says Mike Cleary, NACDA's executive director, speaking on behalf of the Association's officers. "However, we will have alternate plans, if necessary, to carry out our 41st annual Convention."
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
