Greg Harshaw, College of the Bahamas Throughout high school and college, College of the Bahamas Director of Athletics, Greg Harshaw, was no stranger to awards and plaudits. In basketball and baseball, he excelled and when he broadened his horizons, he ran one of the largest community arts programs in California at San Diego. He has also shown a natural talent at transmitting skills and tactics in various college coaching positions from Philadelphia to California. He also took an internship with the Oakland Athletics and working with some of the leaders in the industry, Greg produced three World Series and a Mid-Summer Classic. Yet, he's proudest of his work on the Nelson Mandela Tribute and his community service during this time. After leaving the A's, he traveled extensively before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area to teach and work with underprivileged kids for both Conservation Corp and Upward Bound. He also ran inner-city tennis programs in Oakland and Richmond, California. After another spell as a college coach in California, he couldn't resist the challenge of creating the first intercollegiate athletics program at the College of the Bahamas. Against considerable odds, he has built an athletics program which has been recognized nationally and recently signed a provisional agreement with the Florida Sun Conference of the NAIA. Despite these achievements, he remains proudest of his community work reaching thousands of young student-athletes in the archipelago of the Bahamas.
