CEFMA Announces Orlando Magic's Pat Williams as its Keynote Speaker

Cleveland, Ohio, -- The Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA), announced that Orlando Magic Senior Vice President Pat Williams will serve as the Association's Keynote Speaker at its Inaugural Convention on June 17. The Inaugural CEFMA Convention will take place at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort on June 17-18. The Convention precedes the 44th Annual National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention which takes place from June 18-21 at the same site.

"I am honored to announce that Pat Williams, senior vice president of the Orlando Magic, will be our keynote speaker at this summer's CEFMA Convention," stated CEFMA President Steve Adams, assistant athletics director - internal operations at Wake Forest University. "Mr. Williams is one of the country's top motivational speakers and I feel he will set the tone for what will be a very successful inaugural Convention."

Williams has more than 45 years of professional sports experience to his credit and is best known for his promotional and marketing genius. Williams was promoted to his current post from the general manager position in April of 1996. In addition to his role with the Magic and RDV Sports, named for Rich DeVos and the parent company of the Magic, Williams is also considered one of the country's top motivational, inspirational, and humorous speakers.

Williams has written over 50 books, including his most recent title, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Inside Basketball: 101 Great Hoop Stories from Players, Coaches and Fans.

"I am highly honored to be the first speaker for this dynamic organization," stated Williams. "I know years from now I will look back and remember this experience as one of the high honors in my life."

About CEFMA: CEFMA, the first professional organization in conjunction with NACDA, will be dedicated to the needs of collegiate level event and facility professionals and the challenges that exist within the scope of their responsibilities. CEFMA will seek to promote the growth, leadership, integrity and success of administrators and professional staff in collegiate athletics. The Association is administered by NACDA, which is now in its 44th year. NACDA is the professional and educational association for more than 6,500 college athletics administrators at more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. More than 2,300 athletics administrators annually attend the NACDA Convention.
