CEFMA Announces 2017-18 Officers and Board of Directors

CLEVELAND - The members of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) have elected April Messerly, associate athletics director for facilities and operations at West Virginia University, as President for the 2017-18 year.

“In its few short years, CEFMA has become a nationally-recognized organization, and it continues to grow each year,” said Messerly. “I am honored to serve on the Board of Directors to help further growth of this national organization in all regards. Our Board will continue to evaluate the needs of our membership to advance our professional and educational opportunities in this industry.”

In addition to Messerly, CEFMA has elected Mike Penner, senior associate athletics director of internal operations at The Ohio State University as 1st Vice President; Matt Oberlin, assistant athletics director for event management at the University of Central Florida as 2nd Vice President; and Justin Newell, assistant athletics director for facilities at Kenyon College as the 3rd Vice President for the 2017-18 year.

Working alongside the CEFMA Officers will be the Board of Directors, which is comprised of Tim Baron, associate athletics director for facilities & operations at Grand Canyon University; Mike Beirne, director of event management at the University of Oklahoma; Julie Cribbs, associate director of game & event management at Louisiana State University; Keisha Dunlap, senior associate commissioner for sports services at Conference USA; Katie Egloff, associate athletics director and SWA at Kennesaw State University; Colleen Lamond, associate athletics director for facility operations & event management at the University of Missouri; JD Loudabarger, associate athletics director for athletic operations & facilities at Arizona State University; Jamie Mitchell, associate athletics director for event management & facilities at Colgate University; Holly Stalcup, associate athletics director for event management at the University of Illinois; and Adam Tom, assistant athletics director for event & facility operations at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

CEFMA held its 9th Annual Convention, June 10-12 at the World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida, in conjunction with the 52nd Annual National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention. Tim Selgo, NACDA Past President and retired director of athletics at Grand Valley State University, served as the Association's Keynote Speaker. The 10th Annual CEFMA Convention will be held from June 26-28 at the Gaylord National near Washington, D.C.
