CEFMA Announces 2011-12 Officers and Board of Directors

CLEVELAND -- The members of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) have selected Andrea Williams, associate commissioner at the Big Ten Conference, to serve as the President for 2011-12. Williams will serve as the third-ever President of the association.

CEFMA also elected Lisa Sweany, director of athletics, Armstrong Atlantic State University as the 1st Vice President, Dawn Stewart, director of athletics at Capital University as the 2nd Vice President; and Brett Hickman, assistant athletics director- event management & facilities at Wake Forest University as the 3rd Vice President for 2011-12.

"CEFMA, with the support of its membership, constituents and sponsors, enjoyed another successful year and we look forward to continuing the momentum as we look to the future," stated Williams. "The board of directors want to thank Tim O'Connell (Dayton) for his leadership and service as CEFMA's outgoing president - we are better today because of his guidance. CEFMA will continue to set new goals and embark on new opportunities for 2012 while continuing to promote the development, leadership and success of administrators in our field."

Michael Snyder, assistant director of athletics for internal operations at Oberlin College and Brendan Fouracre, director of game/event management at Louisiana State University join the 2011-12 Board of Directors, which already includes Past President Steve Adams, assistant athletics director- internal operations, Wake Forest University; Donyale Canada, associate commissioner - women's basketball operations & sport programs, Mid-American Conference; Suzy Mason, associate athletics director - event management/facilities & operations, University of Arizona; and John David Wicker, senior associate athletics director - chief operating officer, San Diego State University.


 

 

CEFMA held its 3rd Annual Convention on June 15-16 at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort in Florida, in conjunction with the 46th Annual National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention. Khalil Johnson, president at Common Sense Consulting served as the association's keynote speaker on June 15. The 4th Annual CEFMA Convention will take place June 24-25, 2012 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
