CLEVELAND – With the recent devastation in Haiti, the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) has donated $500 to the Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

“When the news regarding the earthquake in Haiti began to hit the media outlets, I could not believe what I was seeing. The impact on the people of Haiti and on the infrastructure of this tiny island was astonishing,” stated CEFMA President Steve Adams, assistant athletics director – internal operations, Wake Forest University. “On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my privilege to announce that CEFMA has donated $500 towards the relief efforts in Haiti.”

Although the donation is small in comparison to the devastation felt by the people of Haiti, the Board felt it was important to support the efforts of the emergency and outreach organizations that are working with the response and rebuilding efforts.

The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Haitian Red Cross, and other partners to assist those affected by this disaster. To help, people can make an unrestricted donation at www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767). The public can also help by texting “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross, through an effort backed by the U.S. State Department. Funds will go to support American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti.
