Steve Adams Position: Assistant Athletics Director - Internal Operations Institution: Wake Forest University

Steve Adams begins his fourth year as Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations and his ninth season in the Wake Forest athletic department. Adams was promoted to his current position in April 2005 after working three years as Director of Operations. He oversees the departments of operations and event management, athletic facilities and maintenance, campus recreation and club sports, and multimedia.

Adams plays a vital role in the oversight of athletic department capital projects. Recent projects include renovations to the game field and construction of a new press tower at BB&T Field, renovation of the game field and construction of a new indoor hitting facility at Gene Hooks Field, installation of a video board at Winston-Salem Entertainment-Sports Complex, renovation of the multi-field Doc Martin Practice Facility, and renovation of the competition field and surrounding track surface at Kentner Stadium. In addition, Steve is a member of the University's Crisis Management Team, EPA Action Committee, and an athletic representative on the University's Strategic Planning Committee. He also coordinates and oversees the athletic department's risk management efforts, the department's team travel policies and procedures, and handles various contract negotiations with outside vendors. Steve has also served as the tournament manager for several ACC and NCAA postseason events, including ACC men's soccer, field hockey, volleyball, as well as NCAA field hockey, men's and women's soccer, women's golf, baseball, and women's tennis. He also served as the tournament manager for the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball 1st/2nd Round Championship.

A native of Pittsburgh, Adams is a 1997 graduate of Penn State University where he received a bachelor's degree in business management. He earned a master's degree in sports administration from Robert Morris University in 1999. Steve and his wife, Christine currently reside in Clemmons, NC. They have a son Jacob and two daughters Camden and Emerson.
