CABMA Announces 2018 Award Winners

CLEVELAND – The College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) announced the recipients of its Emerging Leader, Manager of the Year, Kenneth E. Farris Sr., 25-Year Service, and Associate Member Service Awards.

The winners were formally recognized at the Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, June 27 during the 2018 CABMA Convention, held at the Gaylord National Resort in Washington D.C.

“On behalf of CABMA and the Executive Committee, I am pleased to announce our 2018 award winners,” stated Michael Boele, Senior Woman Administrator and Senior Associate Athletics Director, CFAO at the University of California, Riverside. “It is our honor to present these awards to this group of well deserving individuals. They are true leaders in our industry who possess great character and continue to raise our standard of excellence. Congratulations to all of our 2018 award recipients.”

Emerging Leader Award

Awarded to a member of CABMA who has demonstrated a desire and commitment to work for the betterment of the profession of intercollegiate athletics through CABMA committee involvement.

Manager of the Year
CABMA’s Manager of the Year is chosen annually by the membership from nominations of individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the profession of athletics business management and who are CABMA members.

Kenneth E. Farris, Sr. Award
The Kenneth E. Farris, Sr. Award is presented at the discretion of the Executive Committee and the Awards Committee for lifetime achievement in the field of athletics business management.

25-Year Service Award
The 25-Year Service Award, first presented in 1993, is given to individuals who have been an active member for 25 years and who have demonstrated outstanding service to CABMA and/or the field of intercollegiate athletics.

Associate Members are individuals who, in the opinion of the Executive Committee, have a strong interest in the objectives and programs of CABMA, but who do not meet the criteria for Regular Members.
