2008 CABMA Agenda

CABMA Members:

I am writing you on behalf of the CABMA Executive Committee to share information about this year's convention, which will be held June 6th - 9th in Dallas. The convention continues to be a highlight for all CABMA members, as an opportunity to network with your peers and hear presentations on a variety of different topics.

Program
The program committee is putting together a comprehensive program of speakers and presentations, which will be relevant to business, ticket, and operations managers. Among the topics that will be included are:
· NCAA President Myles Brand will provide the keynote address
· An independent audit firm will provide an auditor's perspective of the annual agreed-upon procedures
· A professional tax attorney will address the tax issues we all face in our operations
· The Center for Spectator Security Management will provide an overview of risk management training and certification
· NCAA will provide information on initiatives related to professional development, dashboard indicators, and impact of the White case settlement
· An athletic ticket manager will share programs implemented to drive fan loyalty
· An industry expert will provide an overview of the current market for sponsorship opportunities

The committee is also finalizing roundtable presentations to include the following:
· Budget and financial reporting solutions
· SAF and SAOF funds
· Basics of fundraising
· Updates from affiliate organizations
· Camps and clinics
· Comp ticket policies
· Charter travel
· Size and structure of athletic business and ticket offices
· Intern programs
· Cost controls
· Facility construction and financing
· Athletics technology resources
· Licensing programs
· PCI compliance

 

 

Member outings and events provide a great opportunity to network with other members, exhibitors, and sponsors. This year's events will include:
· Golf outing to Tenison Golf Course
· Social outing to Texas Rangers ballgame
· Rookie reception
· Annual CABMA awards luncheon
· Annual CABMA lottery breakfast

Hotel
The convention will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, located on Stemmons Freeway near downtown Dallas. This hotel has been the site of past conventions and is a first-class location for our members.

Costs
If you register for the convention by May 12th, you will receive the Early Bird Registration Rate, which is $100 for members and $250 for non-members staying at the Hilton.

Online registration is now available at www.cabma.com, where you can register for the convention and make reservations at the Hilton.
