Question:
I am working on a proposal for Out of State Tuition Waivers and was wondering if any of your athletic departments receive Out of State Tuition Waivers?
If so please respond to the following four questions:
1. What is your total Grant in Aid budget for 2004-05?
2. What is your total Out of State Tuition budget for 2004-05?
3. What amount do you receive in out of state tuition waivers?
4. Please describe the process for requesting / receiving out of state waivers at your institution
Thanks so much,
Rick Costello, University of South Florida
Responses:
No waivers at Purdue.
- Glenn Tompkins, Purdue University
1. Our total grant-in-aid budget is 1,891,332
2. & 3. Our total budget for tuition waivers is 1,538,802. This includes both in and out of state waivers. We can break it down, between the two, any way we want. Traditionally, we spend about 60% on in-state tuition waivers and 40% on out-of state tuition waivers.
4. The coaches decide, based upon their numbers/limits, who they are giving out of state tuition waivers to. Our only restriction is that they can't go over 15 hours per semester.
Hope this helps,
- Carla Wilson, University of Missouri-Kansas City
