Steve McDonnell PDI Scholarship

Steve McDonnell PDI Scholarship Application - APPLICATIONS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED

The Professional Development Institute (PDI) Leader/Manager class of 2014 has established a scholarship in honor of N4A Past President Steve McDonnell.  The Steve McDonnell PDI Scholarship, which will be awarded annually to one individual, will provide financial assistance to support the selected individual's attendance at PDI.

McDonnell is regarded as one of the true leaders in the field of academic support services for student-athletes.  During his N4A presidency in 2004-05, he charged a group of N4A leaders with the creation and execution of the Professional Development Institute to ensure extensive training for aspiring leaders of academic support programs.  Since 2005, PDI has grown to three tracks, including Leader/Manager, New Practitioner, and Learning Specialist, and has close to 350 alumni.

McDonnell retired in 2014 following a storied 30+ year career including directorships at Iowa State University, Texas A&M University and Colorado State University.  He has been revered as the heart and soul of the profession and a beacon of integrity, student-athlete wellness, and quality leadership.  The PDI Leader/Manager class of 2014 applauds Steve for his many contributions to the profession and his vision of PDI.
