Joseph Holland (Blinn College) and Sarah Corey (Illinois Central) have been named the winners of the NATYCAA Scholar Athlete Award for 2002/03. The talented duo add themselves to an impressive list of previous winners.

Sarah played for the Illinois Central softball team, a national powerhouse. She was recognized as All Region XXIV second team member and an All Region NFCA Midwest second team selection. A nomination was submitted for the NJCAA All Star Team.

In the classroom Sarah excelled while majoring in accounting. A President's List nominee, she also earned NFCA Academic All American honors.

Joseph earned NJCAA Distinguished Academic All American honors. As a pre-med major, he posted a perfect 4.0 gpa. Next year he will be at Tulane University on a combination baseball and academic scholarship.

On the field, he earned All Conference honors as he manned the second base position for the past two seasons.

Sarah and Joseph served their respective communities volunteering in tutoring programs, reading programs, walks for charity and camps.
