Texas Tech Red Raiders
Mike Leach is entering his third season at the helm of Texas Tech. His career and Red Raiders' coaching record is 14-11. Also Tech's offensive coordinator, Leach has guided the offense to 18 team and 42 individual records, making the last two years the most prolific offensive seasons in school history. He is the first Tech coach to lead the program to consecutive bowl games in his first two years. Quarterback Kliff Kingsbury Entering his senior season, Kliff Kingsbury holds 33 individual school records, including career touchdown passes (50), completions (752) and attempts (1,171). His 7,412 career passing yards leave him just 497 yards shy of becoming the all-time leader in school history. Kingsbury is a candidate for the Heisman Trophy, Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award and for All-American honors. Linebacker Lawrence Flugence Lawrence Flugence, a senior, led the Big 12 in tackles the past two seasons and was an Associated Press All-American last year. He is on two preseason All-American teams and is also a candidate for the Lombardi and Butkus awards. Flugence leads a Tech defense that recorded four shutouts and held three other teams without an offensive score the past two seasons. In that time, he recorded 291 tackles.
