Ohio State Buckeyes
Jim Tressel enters his second season as the Buckeyes' coach and his 17th in college football. He is 7-5 at Ohio State and 142-62-2 overall, leading Youngstown State University for 16 years. Tressel guided the Penguins to four national titles and was named National Coach of the Year four times. He served Ohio State as its quarterbacks, receivers and running backs coach from 1983-85. Offensive Tackle Shane Olivea Entering his junior year, Shane Olivea has earned two varsity letters, including one as a true freshman in 2000. The Buckeyes' right tackle last season before breaking his ankle in the regular-season finale, Olivea is best known for his footwork and pass blocking. He was a two-time first-team All-New York selection and was a USA Today Honorable Mention All-American while at Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst, New York. Strong Safety Mike Doss Mike Doss is a two-time All-American and has started the past two years. He is a two-time All-Big Ten selection and a candidate for this year's Thorpe Award. In three seasons, Doss has played in 36 games, with 26 starts. He led the team in tackles the past two years and has accumulated 224 (solo and assists) in his career. He also has six career interceptions.
