Northwestern Mutual has teamed up with NACDA to create Life After Athletics — a program that prepares students for the transition from the campus to the workplace.
What is it?
Life After Athletics is a series of on-campus, interactive training sessions that provides tools to help students prepare for the next stage of life following their collegiate careers. We’ve partnered to customize these topics specific to a student-athlete’s unique needs.
The sessions available include:
- Resume Writing
- Interviewing Basics
- Money Matters
- Business Etiquette
- Elevator Speech
In 2017, NACDA will partner with Northwestern Mutual to develop additional topics like financial empowerment which will help engage with current students and alumni post-graduation.
How does it benefit my students?
Your students will:
- Hear from student-athletes and learn how to translate their athlete mentality into the desirable characteristics employers are looking for
- Participate in exercises and real-life scenarios they may face as they enter the workforce
- Learn about Northwestern Mutual's top-rated internship program — a game-changing opportunity that opens them to a flexible career with huge potential
