Inaugural NACDA & Affiliates Fall Forum
NACDA is pleased to announce this brand-new event, to be held November 12-14, 2017, at the Marriott Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts. The curriculum will feature a unique spin on professional development for athletics administrators, as the overarching theme is "Managing Expectations." The format will be very interactive, and in addition to keynote speakers, programming will include various panels that will consist of university presidents, chancellors, alumni, student-athletes, coaches and faculty, as well as a tour and reception at historic Fenway Park.
On Saturday, Nov. 11, the University of Massachusetts is hosting the University of Maine in football at Fenway Park at 4 p.m. as part of the Fenway Gridiron Series. Featured Speaker — William B. Evans, Police Commissioner, City of Boston Police Department

Commissioner Evans has had major roles in some of Boston’s most notable situations, such as the peaceful decampment of the 70-day occupation of Dewey Square by Occupy Boston, the capture of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect, as well as oversight of the planning and security of all major events including parades, sporting events and demonstrations. Under Commissioner Evans leadership, open dialogue, transparency and thousands of community interactions, has helped to increase trust and community engagement between the BPD and the community.

Featured Speaker — Mike Eruzione, Director of Special Outreach, Boston University and Captain of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team

Mike Eruzione is one of the most recognizable names in Olympic history. Eruzione captained the 1980 United States Olympic Hockey Team to its Gold Medal victory in Lake Placid, N.Y. His goal against the Soviet Union to clinch the "Miracle on Ice" victory is one of the most iconic sports moments of all time. A powerful motivational speaker, Eruzione is actively involved with fundraising events for the Olympic Committee as well as numerous charitable and youth organizations. He was inducted into the Boston University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983.

4. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANT -- The deadline to apply for the professional development grant has passed.
NACDA is offering $750 professional development grants for up to 65 member athletics administrators to help offset costs related to the Fall Forum. Please note that the grant recipients will be selected on a first come first served basis, with equal consideration given to NACDA & affiliate members of all genders, ethnicities and divisions.
The $750 stipend shall include:
- Fall Forum registration ($250)
- Up to $500 to offset the cost of lodging (room and tax only), airfare/mileage and meals to be reimbursed by the Association after the Fall Forum
