The members of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) elected University of Wisconsin-Madison Associate Athletics Director Marija Pientka, to serve as president in 2010-11. Pientka replaces Tim McMurray, senior associate athletics director at Northern Illinois University, who served as President during 2009-10

In an effort to discover some of the newest and best uses of technology in fundraising, four Ohio University
graduate students have engaged in a research project on behalf of NAADD. By way of telephone interviews, email correspondence, online webinars, and Internet research, the team has utilized athletics development officers from all over the country to provide best practices from their experiences with technology.

Great teaching can be found in plenty of places, but in particular, the NAADD Convention serves as one of the best classrooms for an athletics development education.

The Nittany Lion Club, comprised of Penn State alumni and friends of the department of intercollegiate athletics, was established in 1959 to create greater interest in and financial support of Penn State varsity athletics. Members of the Nittany Lion Club make possible grant-in-aid support for student-athletes among 29 varsity programs and provide operational support for the university's entire intercollegiate athletics program. The 22,000+ members that comprise this group help to support the entire intercollegiate program with an average of $25 million annually in funding.

The National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) has announced its 2010 Lifetime Achievement, Donor of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Fund Raiser of the Year Awards. Each recipient will be honored Wednesday, June 23 at the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Luncheon, held in conjunction with the 45th Annual NACDA Convention at the Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, Calif.
