Katie Newman Last College: Willmington College Position: Intern Associations: CABMA, NATYCAA, NACMA, McLendon Scholarship Awards

Katie Newman graduated from Wilmington College (WC) in the spring of 2007 with a bachelor's degree in sports management with a concentration in administration. At WC, she was a student-athlete on the women's basketball team, including the 2004 national championship squad.

While at Wilmington, Newman worked in the public relations department as an assistant to the sports information director. Her duties included keeping statistics and writing press releases for various sporting events, as well as developing and printing game-day programs.

Newman was also the assistant to the athletics coordinator at the Westlake Recreation Center, where she was responsible for running youth basketball clinics, teaching individual basketball lessons and assisting with front desk operations during the summers.

During the 2006-07 year, Newman served as an intern in WC's athletics department, assisting with game and event management and athletics development.

Newman plans on pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics. She is a native of North Olmsted, Ohio and can be reached at kn-intern@nacda.com.
