Jim Host Internship Program NACDA Interns at the 2011 Convention
Begun in the fall of 1984, the Jim Host Internship Program presented by iHigh.com has provided opportunities for more than 150 college students and graduates who are aspiring collegiate athletics administrators. These students came from 26 states and 71 NACDA-member institutions and many have gone on to jobs in the field of athletics administration. During the NACDA internship, students are exposed to different aspects involved in the field of sports administration. Interns work for an established Association while receiving academic credit. This internship serves as a way to increase a student's knowledge of the administrative duties within collegiate athletics by providing practical experience. The internship is a year long commitment in the national office. It begins in early July and ends upon the conclusion of the NACDA Convention the following year. Interns are paid a weekly stipend and receive housing. Students interested in pursuing an internship with NACDA should submit a cover letter, resume and references to Ryan Virtue, Manager - Affiliate Associations, 24651 Detroit Rd., Westlake, OH 44145, phone: 440-892-4000, fax: 440-892-4007, E-mail: rvirtue@nacda.com. Applications are accepted August 1 through January 15 . APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2012-13 INTERNSHIPS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED. NACDA All-Time Intern Listing |
