Todd Christensen, a former standout in the NFL as a tight end, joined ESPN in September 1995 as an ESPN/ESPN2 college football game analyst. He primarily works ESPN2's featured game each Saturday evening, along with selected bowl games.

With ESPN, Christensen has also co-hosted ESPN2's Talk2 Live, and provided play-by-play on ESPN/ESPN2 Arena Football League coverage in 1996. He was previously a contributor to ESPN's SportsLook. Christensen also served as the analyst for the 1998 Rose Bowl (Michigan vs. Washington State) for ESPN Radio, the network's first-ever bowl game broadcast.

Christensen came to ESPN from NBC Sports, where he spent six years (1990-95) as an NFL game analyst (1990), field reporter during Super Bowls XXVI I (1993) and XXVIII (1994), contributing analyst on the pregame NFL Live (1990-95), and analyst on the 1991-93 Fiesta Bowls and the 1994 Cotton Bowl. In addition, he was a reporter/interviewer on various track and field broadcasts, including the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, where he also was a weightlifting analyst. Additional TV work came in co-hosting the syndicated series American Gladiators.

An 11-year NFL veteran (1978-88), Christensen was one of the most prolific tight ends in league history. At 6-3, 230 lbs., he was known as a sure-handed receiver with the ability to get open and make the catches in heavy traffic. On injured reserve with the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie in 1978, he then played one game with the New York Giants in 1979 before embarking on a storied, 10-season career with the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders. His career stats of 461 receptions, 5,874 yards and 52 TDs included 392 receptions from 1983-86, the greatest four-year total in NFL history. He was a five-time All-Pro pick (1983-87), and led the NFL in receiving in 1983 and 1986. He was also a member of the Raiders' Super Bowl champion squads in 1981 (XV) and 1984 (XVIII).

A 1978 graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in social work, Christensen was a four-year starter (1974-77) at running back, earning All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) honors in 1977. He also led the team in receiving three consecutive seasons and posted career figures of 152 receptions, 1,586 yards and 15 TDs. He was a member of three WAC championship teams. He was co-captain of the 1977 squad and was MVP of the 1977 Blue-Gray Classic, catching 10 passes.
