• June 10, 2007 - Steve Adams and Brett Hickman from Wake Forest meet with Bob Vecchione and Pat Manak from NACDA in Orlando to discuss the formation of a event managers association

• December 21, 2007 - Initial NACEM Board Members are announced

    o Steve Adams (Wake Forest), Bridget Belgiovine (Wellesley), Mike Bujol (New Orleans), Donyale Canada (Mid-American Conference), Brett Hickman (Wake Forest), Michael Kelly (Atlantic Coast Conference), Tim O'Connell (Dayton), Lisa Sweany (Grand Valley State), John David Wicker (Washington State) and Andrea Williams (Big Ten Conference)

• February 11-12, 2008 - Initial NACEM Board Meeting in Dallas with NACDA Representatives

• February 12, 2008 - First set of Officers are approved:

    o Steve Adams, Wake Forest University (President)
    o Bridget Belgiovine, Wellesley College (1st Vice President)
    o Andrea Williams, Big Ten Conference (2nd Vice President)
    o Mike Bujol, University of New Orleans (3rd Vice President)

• March 3, 2008 - Association name is officially changed from NACEM to the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA)

• March 3, 2008 - Membership Dues Structure is approved:

    o $150 for Group Institutional Membership (capped at 5 members)
    o $50 Additional group members
    o $50 for Individual or Conference Members
    o $25 Students

• March 3, 2008 - Mission Statement is approved:

    o The Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) is dedicated to providing educational programs, professional development, networking opportunities and best practices to enhance event and facility management. CEFMA, in conjunction with NACDA, seeks to promote the growth, leadership, integrity and success of administrators and professional staff involved in collegiate athletics.

• March 3, 2008 - Jeanne Boyd from the NCAA is added to the Board of Directors

• March 6, 2009 - CEFMA logo is finalized by Rickabaugh Graphics

• May 5, 2008 - National Press Release announcing the formation of CEFMA

• June 9, 2008 - CEFMA Board Meeting in conjunction with NACDA's Annual Convention in Dallas, TX

• June 9, 2008 - Convention Planning, Membership and Sponsorship sub-committees are formed

• June 20, 2008 - Inaugural Convention dates are confirmed -- June 17-18, 2009 in Orlando, FL

• June 20, 2008 - Inaugural Convention registration rates confirmed -- $200 for members and $300 for non-members

• July 6, 2008 - Jenna Mape begins her term as CEFMA's intern

• July 21-27, 2008 - strip ad in SportsBusiness Journal announcing the formation of CEFMA

• July 22, 2008 - membership information sent to all college and university AD's with welcome message from President Steve Adams

• August 20, 2008 - Pat Williams (Orlando Magic) verbally agrees to give keynote address at Inaugural Convention

• August 20, 2008 - membership stands at 72 paid members

• September 29, 2008 - Officers and Board of Directors agree to meet in New Orleans on April 7-8, 2009 to finalize plans for the Inaugural Convention

• October 9, 2008 - membership reaches 166 paid members

• October 10, 2008 - Convention Planning Committee finalizes plans for a Disney Behind the Scenes Tour that will take place during the Inaugural Convention

• October 31, 2008 - membership reaches 207 paid members

• November 6, 2008 - list serve is created

• January 1, 2009 - Bridget Belgiovine resigns from Board of Directors and is replaced with Barb Bolich from MIT.

• January 15, 2009 - Contemporary Services Corporation agrees to become first sponsor

• January 20, 2009 - Tim O'Connell is appointed new 3rd Vice President

• January 29, 2009 - Steve Adams presents an update on CEFMA at NACDA's Mid-Winter Meetings

• January 29, 2009 - Officers and Board of Directors agree to add an off-campus facility personnel option to the membership structure. The cost for a group membership (up to 5 members) would be $170 and each additional member would be $70

• February 24, 2009 - membership reaches 406 paid members

• April 14-15 - Officers and Board of Directors meet in New Orleans and participate in a Habitat for Humanity project

• May 27, 2009 - membership reaches 446 paid members

• June 17-18, 2009 - Inaugural Convention takes place at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida. A total of 93 individuals attended the Convention.

• July 5, 2009 - Alise Maynard begins her term as CEFMA's intern

• July 9, 2009 - Barb Bolich resigns from the Board of Directors

• July 27, 2009 - membership tops out at 462 paid members for the year

• July 30, 2009 - Mike Bujol resigns from the Board of Directors

• September 24, 2009 - Dawn Stewart is appointed to the Board of Directors

• September 24, 2009 - Andrea Williams and Tim O'Connell switch Officer positions

• October 5, 2009 - Suzy Mason is appointed to the Board of Directors

• October 28, 2009 - membership reaches 259 paid members

• January 15, 2010 - membership reaches 321 paid members

• February 1, 2010 - Steve Adams presents an update on CEFMA at NACDA's Mid-Winter Meetings

• April 19-20, 2010 - Officers and Board of Directors meet in Chicago

• May 28, 2010 - membership reaches 452 paid members

• June 20, 2010 - Dawn Stewart is selected as 3rd Vice President

• June 21-22, 2010 - 2nd Annual Convention takes place at the Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, California. A total of 109 individuals attended the Convention which included a keynote address from the NCAA's Greg Shaheen and a tour of the Home Depot Center.

• June 23, 2010 - Tim O'Connell becomes Association's 2nd President

• July 13, 2010 - Mike Eller begins his term as CEFMA's intern

• October 24-25, 2010 - Tim O'Connell, Steve Adams and Lisa Sweany travel to Dallas to meet with representatives of IAAM regarding potential future professional development opportunities for the membership.

• November 9, 2010 - membership reaches 329 paid members for the 2010-11 academic year.

• January 2011 - John David Wicker presents at the STMA conference in Austin on behalf of CEFMA.

• January 17, 2011 - membership reaches 391 paid members for the 2010-11 academic year.

• January 31, 2011 - Tim O'Connell presents an update on CEFMA at NACDA's Mid-Winter Meetings

• February 8, 2011 - Katie Newman is introduced to the Officers and Board of Directors as the new NACDA Staff liaison to CEFMA beginning in July 2011.

• February 8, 2011 - Brendan Fouracre from Louisiana State University and Michael Synder from Oberlin College are elected to the Board of Directors. Their terms will begin in July 2011 and terminate after the CEFMA Convention in 2015.

• March 8, 2011 - membership reaches 416 paid members for the 2010-11 academic year.

• April 18-19, 2011 - Officers and Board of Directors meet in Chicago.

• June 15-16, 2011 - 3rd Annual Convention takes place at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida. A total of 134 individuals attended the Convention which included a keynote address from Khalil Johnson and a tour of the athletics facilities at the University of Central Florida.

• June 17, 2011 - Andrea Williams becomes the Association's 3rd President.

• July 1, 2011 - Katie Newman assumes day-to-day responsibility of Association from the NACDA Office. Pat Manak assumes senior staff administrator position for CEFMA.

• July 5, 2011 - Dana Ingraham begins her term as CEFMA's intern

• July 15, 2011 - Affiliation with IAVM begins

• September 26, 2011 - Tim Wise from University of Wisconsin and Mickey Guridy from Liberty University are elected to the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

• October 14, 2011 - membership reaches 150 paid members for the 2011-12 academic year.

• October 20, 2011 - Officers and Board of Directors approve new Board rotation structure and terms.

• October 21, 2011 - membership reaches 185 paid members for the 2011-12 academic year.

• November 1, 2011 - membership reaches 224 paid members for the 2011-12 academic year.

• November 18, 2011 - membership reaches 291 paid members for the 2011-12 academic year.

• January 8, 2012 - membership reaches 389 paid members for the 2011-12 academic year.
