We're looking for a half-time or in-game promotion suitable for a credit union. In the past, they've given away a semester or year's worth of books through a paper airplane target contest and done the traditional half-court hoop shoot.
If you have done anything cool and/or different that would work within the credit union category, we'd love to know about it.
Thanks,

We received $5000 from our credit union and applied $3150 for an insurance policy to cover a maximum of 8 Ultimate Shootout contests. Basically, we will have one student challenge one non-student in a free throw contest during the first half. The winner proceeds to the Ultimate shootout for a Hummer, Mercedes or full tuition including room and board for a full year (two semesters). The contests available are difficult but not impossible. If someone wins the Ultimate shootout, then the promotion is over as we only have $55,000 in insurance to cover one grand prize. Email or call if you need further information 202.994.7325..

Bart, a cash crawl with simulated money (or the real thing) at center court. Blind fold the person and have the cheer team creat a boundary around the center court circle. spread out the money and give the contestant 5 spins and then have him get down on his/her hands & knees and scramble for as much cash as possible in 15 seconds. Great promo for banks or credit unions. Have them provide a t-shirt with their logo on it. Max dollars is dependent upon the sponsor level. $50-$100 is great. Can also include some gift certificates or coupons on the floor with the money, also include some gag (no value) things as well. Have fun & good luck.

It's an idea that we stole from somewhere else, but it's looks like a winner.
We have a hopper with the name of every registered student in it. We pull a name at each game. If that student is there at the first game, they win a $50 gift certificate to the book store. If not, their name is returned to the hopper until the next game. At the next game, another game is pulled. If that student is present, they win $50 plus the $50 rolled over from the previous game. Bottom line, if there is no winner, the pot keeps piling up until the final game of the season when we guarantee that some student present will win the entire pot ($2000) in book store gift certificates.

We're on the same search for various contests so if you receive any great responses please share. Thanks in advance.

We've rented one of those cash machines that is a self contained plexiglass box that blows money into the air. The contestent goes in and grabs as much money has he/she can in 30 seconds. The crowd really liked it.
We've also done a money bag promotion. You put 25 money bags in the middle of the floor. One of the bags has $5,000 in it and the rest have other prizes. The contest goes to mid court and picks a bag. You can get this promotion insured through a prize insurance company.
Let me know if you have questions...
